基本構造就是 ratchet wheel 搭配 pawl，中文不知道怎麼說。後方的就是發條盒子。
解釋：
- A ratchet mechanism is based on a wheel that has teeth cut out of it and a pawl that follows as the wheel turns.
- The ratchet wheel can only turn in one direction - in this case anticlockwise.
這個特性可以保證發條盒裡面的 main string 穩穩固定，透過緩慢的 escapement 慢慢將 main string 儲存的能量放出來，如果 ratchet mechanisms 突然不見，整個 main string 能量大量釋放，會導致機械鐘每個零件以超出預期的速度旋轉，超容易傷到 movement。
總之，有這個轉發條，發條才能穩穩固定住，如果沒有東西 hold 住那不就白轉了嗎？
