PDE (一) Introduction

廣義微積分還沒談完，又起新的討論串，有夠貪心的啦。其實，個人真的很想懂一點 PDE (Partial Differential Equations)。

參考書籍是 Lawrence C. Evans, Partial Differential Equations.

Well-Posed Problems
解開所有 PDE 十分不容易，那麼我們退而求其次，試著解開「好的」PDE。什麼是好？Well-posed problems:

1. The problem has a solution.
2. This solution is unique.
3. The solution depends continuously on the data given in the problem.

前面兩個容易想像。最後一個需要時間來體會，大體上可以想成「容易控制」。


Typical Difficulties

1. Nonlinear PDE 比 linear PDE 難
2. Order 越高越難
3. Systems 比 single 難
4. 變數越多越難
5. 對大多數 PDE 而言，解的確切公式很難寫出來

總之，PDE 就是超難。
